PURPOSE

To undertake a variety of internal and external consultancy assignments that offer best 
practice expertise and generate a profit stream for UEP

To design and deliver high quality solutions that meet the clients expectations and
open doors’ for further work.

To actively develop new products and services that enhance the practice portfolio      

SCOPE

To provide consultancy advice and implementation support to external clients –       
delivers 70% utilisation on paid assignments

Follows a project through from initial client enquiry to satisfactory completion. This 
includes proposal writing, bid management, solution design, project delivery, client  
account management etc. Success is measured by client satisfaction and time, cost 
and delivery targets.

Ensures practice products and services remain current and retain their competitive advantage

KEY ACTIVITIES

New business support:

• Initiates and supports marketing activity across the business including seminar  
  speaking, article production, client tours and links with professional bodies.
• Develops tender documents and presents proposals to customers
• Works with the other UEP practices in planning and implementing broader supply chain offerings

Consultancy:

Provide professional consultancy advice and implementation support to external  
clients, including:

• Scoping work and establishing number of man days, work breakdown structures, detailed costings etc
• Obtaining client agreement and sign off authority
• Communicating progress and resolving any issues both internally and within client organisation
• Maintaining good client working relations
• Completing the assignment to the appropriate quality standard and in line with client expectations
• Actively looks for other selling opportunities for UEP and Unipart Logistics
• Where required, manages other team members to deliver a client programme.

Research and Development:

• Keeps up to date on latest developments and establishes examples of best practice
• Continuously improves the products and services offered to meet the current and   
  perceived needs of our customers
• Develops contacts and information sources to facilitate the above
• Develop internal tools and processes to enhance efficiency/effectiveness of practice.

General:

• Work effectively with practice lead and senior consultants to maximise the use of   resources within the team

• Applies Unipart Way knowledge of standard work and visual management, combined with IT implementation experience, to manage business readiness aspects of client SAP implementations.
• Ability to plan and manage large external projects. Able to mobilise teams to deliver within a challenging client environment. Preferably UPDS / Prince2 certified.
• Able to map current business processes, identify operational waste and re-engineer processes to improve performance and reduce costs
