People promote improvement: Major service redesign will not work without a strategy for staff engagement

A major change is underway at Sherwood Forest Hospitals Foundation Trust in the shape of a service improvement programme known as 'ABC - Achieving Best Care'. In this article Jane Warder and Ian Hall talk about the role of employee engagement in helping to deliver their vision. Unipart Expert Practices worked alongside the ABC team to help deliver improvements in Endoscopy, Patient Flow amongst others helping to deliver over £4m worth of savings.

A Co-ordinated approach to contracts

ABC aims to exceed the expectations of patients and staff and deliver a high quality service - free from waste, consistent and focused on delivering our patient and staff pledges. UEP have worked in conjunction with the trust to develop ABC and support its implementation across the trust.

Windsor and Maidenhead council makes history with biggest ever cut in council tax
A Conservative local authority has made history after agreeing the biggest ever cut in council tax, The Daily Telegraph can disclose back office staff have also been reorganised based on 'lean management' principles, after advice from car parts maker Unipart. The large cut in council tax was welcomed by campaigners.
