The Results

Unipart Expert Practices (UEP) was invited to work with the dedicated automotive repair facility serving the insurer’s vehicle division to address the suspected inefficiencies that were producing a slow turnaround of vehicles and affecting customer satisfaction.

Significant Results

By the end of the 3 month project the following benefits had been either realised or proven:

  • A 276% improvement, from 34% to 94%, in the accuracy of initial estimates, reducing the average vehicle repair time by 2 days and improving customer satisfaction
  • The liberation of an average 4.5 hours per week across all facility employees releasing 10% more capacity to process vehicles and a similar amount of cost savings
  • Reduced stock holding through improve awareness of supplier return terms and the implementation of a new reuse policy 
  • A marked increase in employee morale and engagement due to improved communication and Leaner processes.
